HelloSystem with RTX 2080ti - is FreeBSD good for gaming?. A free and open source operating system inspired by Apple MacOS, with some features inspired by the classic MacOS.

HelloSystem is a FreeBSD 13.0 based desktop operating system designed to be a replacement for the mac operating system, somewhat like ReactOS. It is a free (as in freedom) operating system with source code available, using KWIN & X11 for the GUI instead of Quartz Compositor.

If they are able to achieve their goals, I could see this becoming an alternative to Hackintosh systems which will become impossible as Apple fully transitions to ARM (also called Apple Silicon). It's not yet as user friendly as macOS, but I could see it becoming a serious contender in a few years if development continues.

A lot of GNU / Linux software already runs because free & open source software can easily be re-compiled for other operating systems. It is also possible because HelloSystem is based on a FreeBSD core, to run Linux software directly through linuxulator, which is helpful because BSDs are not used on the desktop a-lot.

It would be interesting to see the HelloDesktop environment ported to GNU / Linux, with some more polish it could be a serious contender, as it runs fast and efficiently.
