Leslie Roy Winchester, 19, was charged with three counts of aggravated arson, six counts of criminal trespassing and six counts of vandalism, according to the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The agency said Winchester was responsible for damaging and destroying five buildings, starting with a fire on June 13, according to WSMV. Between July 1 and July 8, investigators said he also set fire to a church, a vacant house, a Masonic Lodge and a former fire hall, according to WBIR-TV.
On Thursday, Humphreys County Fire responded to a fire at Jennifer’s Discount Gifts & Furniture, WSMV reported. Aftger putting out the fire, the agency contacted the TBI and asked it to investigate several fires.
“He actually went to the scene of some of these fires. He was actually fighting fires on some of these scenes,” Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis told WKRN-TV.
TBI linked information back to Winchester, a firefighter for Humphreys County Fire, according to WSMV. On Friday, deputies said Winchester admitted he set fire to not only the store with the use of gasoline, but also set five other fires in the county, WKRN reported.
“The bomb and arson Agents, part of TBI, was able to narrow down some of the information that we had and took it and run with it and put together a really, really good case and we were able to interview the guy and get a good confession,” Davis told the television station.
Winchester was booked into the Humphreys County Jail. His bail was set at $1,796,000
