Barbell Side Bends

Suitcase deadlift a barbell and keep the other arm either straight out or on your hips. Lower the weight by bending sideways and squeezing the obliques on the same side as the barbell. When you have reached the lowest you can go and have maxxed out your side bend, squeeze the other side of your obliques in order to straighten back out and stand up straight.
Trainer Tip: If the bar is tipping forward or backward you are not centered so make adjustments. It may take a few reps before you figure out the balance.
