Quickie: United States v. Forty Barrels and Twenty Kegs of Coca-Cola

Right after the passage of the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act, USDA head Harvey Washington Wiley decided he didn't like the caffeine in Coca-Cola. So he seized a bunch of Coke, and then sued the seized items via civil asset forfeiture rather than suing the company.

Even though he lost the case, Congress amended the act so they could sue Coke, and they caved.
