Post-Conditioning Pressing & Accessories

I began as I do with incline dumbbell press. I’m still front loading the strength-skill work, doing sets of triples after a few light warmups. Today, having the time for longer rest periods, I pushed the aggregate volume to 10x total sets of triples.

That’s it for direct pressing so I moved on to the supporting musculature. I first hit shoulders with Lifefitness machine laterals, going up in weight from the previous setting I’ve been using the past several weeks to stay in the 10-15 rep range at 1-2 RIR

Next, for direct tricep work I did overhead cable rope extensions. The long head, heavily involved in pressing is pretty toasted so I don’t have too much left to put into this movement. I get through sets of 10+ at 1-2 RIR

Then last, I finished with an oldie but a goodie, pushups. That’s right, just basic pushups. Everything I need to do them is good and smoked so my 71 kilos feels extremely heavy at this point. I do sets of 15+ that started sub-maximal but rapidly approached proximity to failure by the final 2 sets
