Post-Conditioning Pressing (Chest & Shoulders)

It’s been almost 2 weeks since my last pressing session and my weight has been trending low so I did an extensive pressing specific warmup with banded extensions, pull-apart and several sequentially heavier short ramp up sets with dumbbells on the incline bench. Once adequately prepared, I did 5 working sets of doubles for “strength-skill” work as my primary exercise

Next, I did another 5 DOWN sets of dumbbell incline, using a slightly lower weight to accrue some additional volume along as well as “trigger time” with this movement pattern

For shoulders, I did 5 sets of Lifefitness Machine Lateral Raises. My front delts are already hit by the pressing and I get rear delts during my pulling sessions so today’s when I give the medial head some direct attention. Besides shoulder width, these are a tremendous addition to overall shoulder stability and, laterally, pun intended, with injury prevention

Last, I did 5 sets of regular @$$ pushups. Even at this point, these were high volume but with safety not a concern, I pushed these hard reaching concentric failure on the last few sets
