Nehemiah Lesson-01: Divinely Compelled to Act (Part I)

We are in Lesson-01 in the series “Rebuilding the Covenant Community” from the book of Nehemiah.
 
This is Volume II of our series: “After the Exile” a study of Ezra-Nehemiah-Esther.
 
The lesson is titled “Divinely Compelled to Act – Part I” and our focus passage is Nehemiah 1:1-11.
 
Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In today’s lesson we begin in earnest our study of the book of Nehemiah.
 
The story begins when Nehemiah who is in the citadel of Susa and a group of men arrive with news regarding the returned Exiles and the city of Jerusalem.

Today we will focus on our first division, “Nehemiah’s Prayer”, 1:1-11.

In Part II, we will focus on our second division, “Nehemiah’s Proposition”, v2:1-10 and our third division, “Nehemiah’s Preparation”, v2:11-20.
