DAY TWENTY-ONE || CAMINO DE SANTIAGO (2025)

The walk from Ponferrada to Villafranca is stunningly gorgeous through the vineyards and one of my favorite stages.

Most of the day I walked in quiet contemplation, met with the occasional brief conversation to passing pilgrims.

Everyone was really happy with the weather and scenery, despite the crazy “Zombie Apocalypse” day prior and sense of curious uncertainty.

We all woke up to communications still down and zero viable answers about the blackout.

Many pilgrims left the Camino out of fear.

I chose to keep walking and remain in a state of calm and trust.

Aaron caught up with me at a friendly and eccentric albergue, and we spent a lovely afternoon wine tasting, exploring the local town charm, and soaking our feet in the cool river.

Pilgrims congregated for lively conversations and good vibes that evening as we watched the beautiful sunset and moonrise from the valley.

I felt in awe of what a perfect day it had been.
