What Is Climbing Quandary Peak Really Like?

After climbing Mt. Grays and Mt. Elbert, I can confidently say that climbing Mt. Quandary is a great peak for the beginner hiker. It might be a shorter distance than the other two but I wouldn't say it is definitely easier than those others. You still have 3400 feet of vertical climb in just that 3.5+ miles to reach the summit of this Colorado 14er.

We completed the hike on August 3rd. We began around 8:25 am and completed the entire course in 5 hours and 10 minutes (including over an hour at the summit). We tackled this 14er after taking one day off following our 85 mile backpacking trip on the Colorado trail going from Silverton to Durango over 6 days.
