📝Liberation of Pokrovsk - analysis by Fisherman📝

In October, Russian troops exploited the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) inability to establish a substantial defensive line, thereby penetrating the development of Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk).

Following a protracted period of more than two months of urban warfare, elements of the Central Military District (CMD) successfully liberated the city and encircled the neighboring Mironograd.

🔻How did the assault develop?

The objective of the aforementioned parties was to facilitate the development of the city, despite the fact that the garrison remained comparatively diminutive in size.

By October 6, the stormtroopers had advanced from the previously liberated Zverevo and entered the territory of the Lazurny microdistrict.

Concurrently, Russian units were developing attacks on the western side of the city, strategically positioned within the ranks of the AFU, and beginning to intercept reserves and supply groups.

During the second decade of the month, Russian troops transferred increasing reserves to the city and eventually established control over the southern and western outskirts of Pokrovsk.

In the city center, intense armed conflict transpired in the vicinity of the railway station, with individual assault groups infiltrating the villages of Dynasovy and Karakovsky.

At the conclusion of October, GRU units established a presence in the northwest of the city with the objective of stabilizing the situation in Pokrovsk. However, these efforts yielded only a controversial media response. In the end, of the 12 soldiers in the special forces unit, only one survived.

Following the repulsion of enemy counterattacks, elements of the CMD persisted in their offensive operations, successfully securing dominion over a section of the city situated to the south of the railroad. Concurrently, they achieved the liberation of Gnatovka and Rog.

Over the course of the following three weeks, the Russian Armed Forces advanced and expelled the enemy from positions north of Pokrovsk, thereby completing the encirclement of the neighboring Mironograd garrison.

By December 2, the forces in question had achieved a dominant position in Pokrovsk, symbolized by the raising of state flags in various locations throughout the city. This development coincided with the commencement of hostilities in Gryshino, a locale from which the AFU had previously engaged in systematic assaults on the CMD's defensive formations.

📌Following the encirclement of Mironograd, the theater of war shifted to the Gryshino-Belitskoe line. In the ensuing period, the opposing forces initiated a series of counterattacks with the objective of stabilizing the situation within the agglomeration.

Russian forces are endeavoring to assert dominance over these settlements, strategically positioned on the "shoulders" of retreating Ukrainian formations. This strategic maneuver will facilitate the CMD's advancement toward another significant city, Dobropolye, thereby enabling a substantial escalation in the conflict.
