Chapter 1 – The Village:

In The Village, U.S. agent Leon S. Kennedy arrives in a remote Spanish hamlet on a mission to find the president’s kidnapped daughter Ashley Graham, only to be ambushed and separated from his squad amid hostile villagers twisted by the Las Plagas parasite. After escaping the grim Hunter’s Lodge and surviving his first chaotic encounters with Ganados, Leon pushes deeper into the dark woods and across a blood-soaked bridge toward the Village Square, where he’s forced into a relentless battle against hordes of infected villagers and faces the terrifying first appearance of the Chainsaw Man. The fight culminates with eerie tension as tactics like stealth kills, dodging bear traps, parrying hatchets, and navigating cramped buildings define survival. Once the bell tolls and the villagers retreat into trance, Leon scavenges supplies, explores a farm and crestfallen mills, and presses on to the perilous Lakeside Settlement. There, after clearing traps, grenadiers, and ambushes, he descends into a dark basement and uncovers a shocking clue to Ashley’s fate, ending the chapter on a grim note.

Chapter 2 – The Valley:

In The Valley, Leon wakes stranded and disarmed after the chaos of the village, finding himself chained with survivor Luis Serra, who reveals glimpses of a cult called Los Illuminados and confirms Ashley was seen near an old church. Leon must retrace his steps through an abandoned factory and regain his gear, learning basic stealth and parry mechanics as he fights off sections of villagers and gains access to a map-reading Merchant who provides weapons, upgrades, and side quests. Journeying through open, treacherous terrain of the Valley, Leon collects emblem pieces, solves environmental puzzles, and discovers crucial key items, all while evading and battling clusters of Ganados and another Chainsaw Man ambush. The chapter’s climax unfolds inside the Village Chief’s Manor, where Leon solves a cryptic puzzle to obtain the Insignia Key, only to be confronted by the intimidating chief once again. After a tense standoff interrupted by unexpected violence, Leon’s path toward Ashley and the church grows clearer, setting up the crossing ahead.

Chapter 3 – The Lake:

The Lake finds Leon tracking leads from the village toward the mysterious body of water that may hold Ashley’s location, moving through perilous environments including the Village Chief’s Manor, quarries, and the Fish Farm while fighting wolves, Brutes, and more Ganados along the way. Once at the lakeshore, Leon must fuel up a small boat and confront the massive aquatic creature known as Del Lago in one of the game’s most iconic boss battles, forcing him to dodge debris and hurl harpoons to survive. Successfully defeating Del Lago isn’t just a display of skill — it propels Leon across the lake’s expanse and gives him a fleeting moment of hope, only for him to collapse from injury and infection as the chapter closes. This chapter blends strategic traversal, survival combat, and cinematic set-piece encounters as the stakes of Leon’s mission continue to escalate.
