The Value of One

What's the true value of a life? In a world that knows the price of everything but the value of nothing, we're reminded that every person—at every age, every stage, every condition—is precious to God.

This Sunday we explored Mark 8:36: "What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" From the unborn to the elderly, from the disabled to the struggling, each person bears God's image (Genesis 1:27). We're fearfully and wonderfully made—unique fingerprints among billions, each one treasured by our Creator.

How can we add value to people? By seeing them as God does. By spending time, offering encouragement, dreaming with them, and showing up. A fisherman playing with his child in the sand understood something the wealthy businessman missed: the greatest riches aren't found in more boats or bigger nets, but in valuing what truly matters—life itself and the people God has placed in our lives.

Let's commit to protecting, preserving, and celebrating life at every stage. Because God so loved the world—and that includes every single person.
