Feminist Tomb Raider Moving Forward | Sophie Turner CONFIRMED as Lara Croft

Amazon has seemingly resurrected their announced Tomb Raider series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge after it appeared to have been scrapped.

Not to long ago we heard Jennifer Salke, the Amazon executive who greenlit Tomb Raider, was fired from the company. With no progress being made on the project since it was announced most figured that was the end of it. Now we are learning that not only is it still happening, but Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is confirmed as the star Lara Croft. Not only that, but the series will begin production early 2026. Seeing as how Amazon has been paying Waller-Bridge $20 million a year since 2019 to produce content, and she hasn’t produced anything yet, this is likely an effort by Amazon to try and get something out of her for all they spent.
